Description

In an idyllic setting, just a stone's throw from Eastcote cricket pitch, The Case is Altered lies at the heart of the community and provides the perfect location for meeting family, friends and colleagues. The beautifully restored 17th Century pub and adjoining barn boast a sympathetic refurbishment complemented with a charming garden that proves an ideal setting to relax and unwind on a summer's evening.

Our extensive range of real ales and excellent wines are the perfect accompaniment to our delicious menu and, combined with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, keeps our customers returning time and time again.

The team and I look forward to welcoming you to our pub soon

Our beautifully refurbished pub is a real rarity. The Case is Altered is a traditional English pub offering real ales and hearty food. The venue has been sympathetically restored so customers of all ages can enjoy this 17th Century pub. Customers can choose from 3 regular real ales and there’s one guest ale every week.

Despite common misconceptions, the name ‘The Case is Altered’ bears no relevance to the judicial system. The somewhat unusual name in fact originates from colloquial Spanish at the time of the Peninsular War. ‘Case desaltar’ loosely translates to ‘House of Jumping’ . Over the years sign writers have altered letters to try and give it an English meaning, where none truly existed!

Head Chef, Jamie Cottam’s, passion for food is apparent in the mouth-watering menu and inspirational specials board. The specials board promotes an array of dishes from around the world, made up of the freshest and finest ingredients.

The Maryland crab cakes prove a popular starter with locals who love the spicy salsa coupled with the fresh crab. Why not complement this with the Chardonnay de L’Ardeche, Louis Latour.

The barn can also been booked for private functions and special occasions, perfect for groups of up to 30 guests.

Whether you want to book the barn for a special occasion or have a specific question please do not hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to help. We’re open 11am – 11pm everyday and serve food 12pm to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 12pm to 5pm on Sunday and Bank Holidays.
